There are many ways to make teaching easier. One of these is developing a lesson plan format that works for you. There are many different ways to teach a particular lesson and all subjects may not work under the same format. This is one of the times when it is best to use the vast experiences of other educators and the teaching resources that are available through your educational institution and the organizations that support you.
Having a lesson plan format that you have developed to work in your classroom with your style of teaching will give the students the structure and security that leads to success. When you have the opportunity to develop your lesson plan format then you can use teaching resources like visual learning techniques or group activities that will help you teach in a way that you feel comfortable with.
As an example: Two teachers are each using a different lesson plan format to teach the same material. They are teaching a lesson on reading comprehension. The first teacher likes to teach using a model reading approach. She will read the story with them and will stop while reading to discuss what is happening, pointing out different words and explaining what they mean. The second teacher prefers to let the students work more independently. She has a vocabulary list of words that the child might not know. She has them find the words in the story and then write down what they thing the word means by reading the other words around it. After they have finished the definitions they read the story together and talk about what words they got wrong and what the right meaning is. Both teachers are effective. Their children learn the material, but the teachers are more comfortable teaching it different ways using the teaching resources that were available to them.
